Earth and rock dams, cofferdams for river diversion and geotechnics applied to dams have been SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l.'s leading fields.

Our experience in earth and rock dams partly derives from the closed collaboration with prominent figures in this field such as Arthur Casagrande, George E. Bertram, and Stanley D. Wilson. From them, we learned to be particularly keen in investigation and consider that the prompt grasp of the foundation conditions and construction materials are the basis for a sound design.

Through the years, we have contributed in developing both laboratory and full scale testing procedures. Working world-wide and meeting many different geological and environmental conditions made ourselves in a condition to acquire a broad experience and an open-minded approach to solutions.

We realized a variety of projects, from steel faced rockfills to homogeneous embankments, and zoned earth and rock dams. Our frequent involvement in detailed design and construction supervision and the many assignments carried out for Contractors have enhanced our interest in construction design and technical specifications.

SC's persons are active members of Consulting Boards and of Panel of Experts for some of the largest dams now under construction world-wide
