Geotechnical engineering is a vocational field for SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. and most of the projects and construction in our references contain important geotechnical components.

Consulting Services related to large slides of soil or rock masses are part of our direct experience, starting with Vajont. SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has been the Engineer for the study of Val Rabbia slide, in the Alps, extending over 800 m of height in a valley slope and having an overall volume of about 30 000 000 m3.

Foundations on rock and soft ground and challenging bearing capacity problems have been successfully solved by SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. like placing a large concrete structure for the Thermal Power Plant of Brindisi Sud, in Italy, over the silts and peats of large swamps.

Specifying the filling of granular materials and clay in deep, running waters and assessing the in situ density of underwater fills through large, non-standard cone penetration tests are other works performed by SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. as services rendered within larger assignments.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has been confronted with dewatering of deep excavations and with open cuts in soft, liquefiable deposits like those done for Ertan dam and appurtenant works in China or for caisson excavations below the general water table, for a large parking in Milan. High cuts in soils and/or weak rocks are in our records. Supports used range from nails to anchors to tendons and to retaining structures made of pressure grouted, small diameter piles anchored with high capacity, poststressed tendons.
