SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has been pioneering the use of geosynthetics in civil engineering and large-scale tests on geomembranes placed on coarse supports. The first application of geotextiles made by P. Sembenelli dates back to the early 70es.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has been designing with an array of different geosynthetics: PVC, CSPE, HDPE geomembranes, PETP, PP, Glass Fiber and natural fiber geotextiles. SC has assisted Manufacturers in developing engineered products and Contractors in implementing special projects like inflatable cells to prestress the soil under the point of large diameter piles.

Geotextile applications engineered by SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. range from reinforcement under motorway embankments founded on peat to high-reinforced soil structures and retaining walls. Our references are outstanding references in the design of walls with a vegetated (green) face and in the application of jute geotextiles for soil conservation.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. is leading in the design of embankment dams waterproofed with geomembranes. We have designed several of such dams, including the highest dam in operation today, and a number of geosynthetics impervious linings. More than 6 dams are operating satisfactorily. A number of old concrete dams have been refurbished and restored to normal conditions through a re-lining with polymer geocomposites.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has contributed to the international literature of geosynthetics more than 20 professional papers and State of the Art Reports.
