SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has been the pioneer in the use of geosynthetics in civil engineering works and carrying out large-scale tests on geomembranes applied to coarse supports. The first geotextiles application realized by P. Sembenelli dates back to the early 70es.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has employed different kinds of geosynthetics: PVC, CSPE, HDPE geomembranes, PETP, PP, Glass Fiber and natural fiber geotextiles. SC has assisted Manufacturers in developing new engineered products and Contractors in implementing special projects like the inflatable cells to prestress the soil under the point of large diameter piles.

Geotextile applications engineered by SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. range from reinforcement under motorway embankments based on peat to high-reinforced soil structures and retaining walls. The design of walls with green planted face and the application of jute geotextiles for soil conservation are among the most important projects SC realized.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. is well known for the design of earth dams waterproofed with geomembranes. It has designed several of this kind of dams, and many geosynthetics waterproofed linings including the one of the highest dam in operation today. More than 6 dams designed by SC are currently operating. A lot of old concrete dams have been refurbished and restored to normal conditions through a re-lining with polymer geocomposites.

SC SEMBENELLI CONSULTING s.r.l. has contributed to the international literature of geosynthetics with more than 20 professional papers and State of the Art Reports.
